Picante’s Canaan

The atmosphere was great. The tacos were delicious, the food is very fresh. The wait staff was very patient with us. Would love to go again.

9.15.24 Great first-time visit. Ample parking. Indoor/outdoor venue. Margaritas got better with each round. Enchiladas and Chimiganas were good. Overall we had a great dinner.

We were visiting the northwest corner of Connecticut- and meeting friends for lunch that were coming from the Albany area Picantes was exactly halfway The reviews made it easy to pick here Boy were we pleasantly surprised!! Such a cute restaurant inside The staff were patient with us as I’m not a big fan of TexMex food So they steered us to the traditional food All of us thought some of the best Mexican food we’d ever had ( including those who travelled extensively) A few got the Molcajetes Wow - talk about presentation!!! Enormous stone bowls arrived sizzling at our place Included cactus which was quite good So much food- literally enough for 3 meals! Love good food! My husband and I always sit outside and it always rains! With the outdoor umbrellas it's quite OK. We get to laugh and enjoy being outdoors in thie wonderful area. Growing up between Arizona and here, this food is great at Picantes. A must try. Flavors are fantastic and Service is always with a smile. This time we ordered Tamarind margaritas with dinner and they didn't disappoint. Go enjoy! We visit often, last was Sept/October when these photos were taken
