Phở Ban Mai Restaurant

My wife and I dined here the morning after Christmas. We were greeted right away by a friendly server. We were able to sit down very quickly and order quickly too. Very fast service. We ordered 2 appetizers the surf and turf rolls and spring rolls. We also got 2 phos. Very delicious and really hit the spot. Authentic and welcoming!

There are a lot of Vietnamese restaurants in San Diego and the quality can vary, but this one is solid. Despite a wide variety of menu items, the food is consistently good. Typical of most Vietnamese restaurants, service is not the best. It's in a big shopping complex so parking is relatively easy. If you're looking for good Vietnamese food, this would be one of my first choices.

Waited for 10 minutes. Food was decent. Soups were hot, that's always a plus. Also ordered the stirred fried rice noodles, it's a bit too soupy for my taste. But there is plenty of meat, seafood and veggies. The Egg Crepe with shrimp was good. The service could be a little bit faster. The best thing for this place is that it opens to 10 pm.

Food quality is not the same 5 years ago. Prices have gone up as well. You get what you pay for.

I was visiting my family in San Diego and they wanted to meet up at Pho Ban Mai in Mira Mesa. We usually go to a different Pho place down the road but, to be honest, I wasn’t sure I’d like this place because of the low reviews. I was quite surprised to find I really enjoyed the food here! Pho Ban Mai is nestled within the same plaza where Rite Aid, Boiling Crab and Seafood City are located. It was a little hard to find because the signage wasn’t as visible. We were seated quickly but we had about a dozen family members and we were split into separate tables. Note: This restaurant is not made for large groups; however, the staff were accommodating and made it work. Because of the smaller group seating, the orders were placed by table number.
