I ordered from Pete’s Daily Food on my third day living in Springfield, and it became part of a really special memory. I got the oxtails for myself, curry chicken for one friend, jerk chicken for another, and we all shared rice and peas with gravy and sweet plantains. We were all dealing with housing struggles at the time, but that meal brought us together. We sat outside under a tree with pink blossoms near one of McKnight’s beautiful Victorian houses, sharing food and conversation. Everything was delicious—spicy, juicy, and incredibly satisfying. The portions were large and filling, easily enough for two people per dish. The oxtails were especially rich and tender, and the rice and peas with gravy were thick, saucy, and full of deep flavor. My mouth still waters when I think about it.
Tried this Jamaican spot last weekend after a friend mentioned it, and I’m glad I did. The jerk chicken had a nice kick without being overpowering, and the rice and peas were cooked just right. I also ordered a beef patty on the side, which was flaky and pretty filling. The place itself is simple but clean, and the staff were friendly even though it got a little busy while I was there. Service wasn’t super fast, but nothing unreasonable. Overall it was a solid meal and I’d def come back to try the oxtail next time.
I went to this Jamaican spot last weekend with a couple friends and honestly, it was a nice surprise. The place had a chill vibe and the food came out fresh and hot. I tried the jerk chicken with rice and peas, and it had that perfect smoky flavor without being too spicy. The staff was friendly, maybe a bit slow with refills but nothing major. Prices were fair for the portion size too. Overall, I’d say it’s worth checking out if you’re craving some good island food.
Ordered off uber eats today and this is what came. I asked for fried chicken this looks like food you would give to a dog! And pure bone how yuh fi serve somebody this. Just unappetizing didn’t even eat this waste of money.
Excellent food, great taste, environment is clean and delightful, remind me of back home. Service was phenomenal. Recommend Highly!!!!
