Peter & Julie Cummings Library (Martin County Library System)

Let me start with what I love: This library is absolutely beautiful. The space is peaceful, the books and resources are fantastic, and the kids’ section is especially wonderful, thoughtfully designed and vibrant. It’s clear this place was built to support learning and growth. But my experience with two staff members Connor and Martha was unacceptable and left me feeling targeted and deeply uncomfortable. I came to study and multitask on assignments, and from the moment I plugged in my device (which I’ve done in other libraries without issue), Connor approached me multiple times even after I complied. I felt singled out and unable to focus. Then Martha shut down the computer I was using without cause, and told me I was being “watched.” Again, I had done nothing wrong, was working quietly

This is a great little library. Im vacationing in the area and it's an awesome resource to stop by and get some computer tasks done, etc. What a great spot for your lovely community

Love my local library. I just moved back home and was glad to visit. The staff was friendly and helpful. One even informed me about the Libby App which has been a game changer. The building is always clean, there’s new popular titles, the WiFi is free. All in all an amazing place.

Your librarians and staff are amazing at this venue. Especially, Meadow. She has been outstanding for assisting me with my chief concerns. She is professional, efficient, friendly, and approachable. She makes all the difference for a positive experience. I plan on only utilizing this library as a patron for myself and family.

We love taking our 2 and 5 year old there; they love it. Great kid's area with beautiful views out panoramic windows.
