A very unique place. Haven't been there in many years. Heard there was a new owner and she was amazing. They have a lot of candy in there, plus some old school candy. And a lot of homemade treats. Plus some sandwiches available and ice cream 🍦 😋. A huge variety. They are always looking for input on more things to add. Great place. You must visit. And it is very clean.
The owner greeted us as soon as we walked in. He had upbeat energy, one of those guys you immediately want to get a beer with. They’ve got a huge selection of ice cream, after a few minutes, I chose the Caramel Cheesecake Cookie Monster. As he was scooping it, he said it was the best one and it did not disappoint. We will definitely be back.
Like stepping back in time, this place feels like a candy shop from the 1900's. The bakery here makes delicious looking sweets, doughnuts and macaroons and more. This place would fit in on Mackinac Island. There's outdoor tables and chairs for families and kids. The baked goods all include wheat, so there's nothing I could eat on my visit, so I had. a filtered coffee for $2.60 and made myself comfortable on some porch chairs, listening to crickets and rural car traffic whilst drinking a lovely brew. The view from the porch includes mature trees, 100+ year old farm houses, horse fencing painted white, leaves just starting to fall. It's lovely and peaceful today.
If you want a sweet treat you HAVE to try Peppermint Village! You can tell that there has been so much love and care put into it. Delicious ice cream, the pastries look amazing, and huge selection of fun candies and treats! The prices are fine. It’s right on track with any chain ice cream shop but with so much more charm. We need to support neighborhood businesses like this! The owners have done a great job bringing this institution back to life! We’ll definitely be back.
I come here a lot for their ice cream and it’s really good but I’m very disappointed to say that the pastries aren’t the best. The sugar cookies are store bought from Kroger and the cannolis had no taste to them. They say everything is homemade but I know when a sugar cookie is store bought. The people are amazing but the food needs to be better.
