Penrose Espresso Bar and Pastry Counter

We adored our visit to Penrose, and the service + coffee was perfect. It was a chilly morning and the outside seating was comfortable. Unique pastry selection with their tomato and garlic pretzel bun (totally making up the name for that) and a warm flat white. They are invested in their quality and the experience of their customers, and I would most definitely come back when I’m in the city again.

Kyle had a dream to open his own Coffee Window. Today is his day!! Congratulations! Sweet little expresso bar or coffee window with sweet treats. Great outdoor standing or sitting area. The marble cake was delicious! My daughter had the preach muffin Yum! He roasts his own beans. The Americano is very tasty.

I was working right around the corner, and needed a quick pick me up in between photo shoots, so I popped over to Penrose with my friend. We got this delicious Japanese milk buns… and let me tell you this was one of the best things I’ve ever tasted. We got other sweet treats/pastries, and the pistachio pie bar is my FAVORITE. Highly recommend this spot! 🤤

Love the space, beautiful outdoor area. Owner is a great guy, friendly, and knows his coffee! Spectacular cappuccinos, pastries by Novel, absolutely incredible!

Walk up window giving Wes Anderson vibes with great outdoor seating. Pastries one of the better kept secrets in KC. Hidden gem, this one.
