Customer Reviews
We found their booth at Gualala farmers market. I got almond croissant that was absolutely loaded with almond paste and could be a meal for half of the day. My partner got savory croissant that was amazing and had almost identical ratio of croissant to savory filling when you bite into it. To my taste it’s a bit too sourdough and tastes like a danish on the inside. I wish I would have tried the regular croissant to have a better feedback, plowing through that amount of almond paste was not a small task. We also got ciabatta in a baguette form factor and went through it in a day. It’s MUCH better than Manresa and Croissante. *We got coffee from the only coffee shop in Gualala and it was really good.
If you’re road tripping through the north coast, I would highly recommend planning on being in Point Arena on Wednesday morning so you can experience the best croissants you’ve ever had. So amazed that this place had been open for five years and doesn’t have a larger following yet. I can’t wait to come back. PS- they take card as well as cash now
Almond croissant - 8.5/10 crunchy exterior with a soft and delicious interior. Almond paste throughout and very very tasty paste. Really enjoyed and would get again. Stonefruit scone- not great, but also not bad. Whitney said very cornbready which is quite accurate. Like moist dough cornbread with a denser texture. Different, and would've been better had we not been eating dessert.
Bought a loaf of seeded rye today at the Ft Bragg Farmer’s Market. SO DISAPPOINTED!!! 1. Burnt….looks burnt, tastes burnt. (Came prebagged) 2. Has a giant hole running the length of the loaf just under the burnt crust. 3. The remainder of the loaf is wet, dense and undercooked. Can’t understand why they woul sell a product they HAD TO KNOW was inferior!!!
Now open Saturday mornings, this Point Arena bakery is a must-visit. We devoured a chocolate almond croissant, monkey bread, and a lemon curd croissant — all absolutely divine. I snuck back for another chocolate almond croissant and a round loaf of sourdough (wanted backup for the long coastal drive). Pelican Bread in Point Arena is well worth the detour.
