Pearl River Public Library

Great library, but sometimes it is hard to find a good quit place. Also some of the staff can be dodgy, once I heard this one lady say the F word in the children’s section. Also there is this one older guy who is very strict about the rules, and unlike all of the other librarians, he makes me a 12 year old kid go to the children’s computers were I can’t even fit into one of those tiny chairs. But don’t get me wrong Pearl River would not be the same without the library.

Good libary. This libary has alout of good books and the kid section is excellant and the computers are so good. staff their are alittle mean because when I was going on the computer it would'nt work so some staff helped me and then they started making fun of me and that was'nt very nice but thats the only thing I don't like about the libary. Wonderful library far exceeding what one would expect from such a tiny town. Tons of great programs for all ages from a large, helpful and highly experienced staff. One of my favorite things about Pearl River.

Lovely little place. I mainly go for the graphic novels; They have a small but decent selection of YA fiction, graphic novels and even Manga, and a good collection of adult fiction. Having a library membership allows access to Hoopla which is an Ebook borrowing service, and it's got a fantastic selection of books there as well. They also have a lot of programs for all ages, which is wonderful. I haven't attended any because the time slots often don't work for me, so I can't attest to the quality, but it's nice to know that these activities and resources are offered. My one complaint/gripe would be that things are difficult to find in the non fiction/reference section, which is small and somewhat outdated. Was really blown away by the engagement of the staff and the quality of the programs offered at this library. Excellent collections and great atmosphere for a quiet space as well. Their digital collections are probably the model for how a library system should adapt to the cloud/internet age. Looking at their young adult and children's sections, they have some serious talent. They're currently offering classes in computer programming concepts for young kids through YA; really inspiring stuff. Used to consider myself a library kid and they reminded my why I still am.
