I just don’t see why people are so crazy over this place. The bbq is so below average. The brisket plate I had was about a slice and a half of very dry brisket drenched in bbq sauce and with even that it was still very dry. Worse brisket I ever had. Brisket should be able to stand on its own without sauce. Saucing brisket is a travesty. But they needed it to cover up the disaster they made. Also for the price it was a lot of liver tasting rice dressing with warmed up canned pork n beans with no improvements what so ever and mustardy potato salad which I despise. A train wreck of a plate. It’s a brisket plate. Brisket should be the star. Not enough of it for the price. Every pic i see confirms you are paying for rice dressing. Picked up a rib dinner and quarter chicken to go, along with a sweet potato pie. Whew it was delicious!! Great prices, great food and great service. If I pass through the area I’ll be sure to stop again. The ribs were tender, full of flavor and the rice dressing was delicious! Highly recommend.

BEST PLATE LUNCH IN ALL THE AREA. Catfish Coubion Friday. Will definitely be back!

Road stop dining that can't be missed on the way to New Iberia. The gentleman who served up the food and was servicing the window was quick and cooks up a mean barbecue. Huge portion. The turkey necks were peeling off the bone and glistening in a fantastic, sweet and just barely spicy, brown sauce that was also drizzled over a bed of rice; the dinner roll on the side was perfectly soft, easy to peel and share; the sausage pea soup was so good, there were tears coming down my travel pals face (🌶️), this being the same person who initially figured that she wasn't hungry until I opened up the dinner plate. More please!

Can be difficult to find but worth getting there. No restroom. Take out only. Good enough that they sell out. Definitely worth the stop.
