Papi's Taqueria

I went today for the first time. Just happened to be in the same plaza and was hungry. The food was absolutely delicious. I loved the flavors of everything and especially love a sauce bar with pickles veg to help yourself to. I got the spicy shrimp special taco and the al pastor . Seriously 10/10. Food also came out super fast

Found this spot while driving on the highway and looking up "Mexican food" and "tacos". Made my way here and ordered Birria Tacos, Street Tacos and Nachos. Small take out spot with limited indoor seating. We ate inside. Food was good but not great. Tacos and Nachos were average. Birria tacos were okay, the sauce was lacking in flavor. I'm guessing due to the location the toned down the flavor and spice which is understandable just not what I exspected. I definitely recommend you try them for yourself though.

One of our family favorites for reliable take out. Consistently awesome. Good portions and fresh ingredients. Not much seating so plan on take out. One of the best burritos and quesadillas in the area!

Papis Taqueria is a total gem in Old Lyme — small in size, but big on flavor and good vibes. This spot is definitely worth the detour. I had the Buffalo Cauliflower and Mahi Mahi tacos — both were legit, but the Mahi stole the show with its bright, fresh flavor that just hit in a beach-town kind of way. We also shared the meatless sopes, which were super generous and totally satisfying. A little messy (in the best way), and I gave them a flavor boost with some of the house salsas — which, by the way, are on point. I’d love to see a pescatarian version added — they already carry Mahi, so tossing that on a sope feels like an easy win. Shrimp would be another great coastal fit, and a hearty mushroom option could also round things out for plant-based folks (even if it doesn't match the seasid

These are the best Mexican street tacos around. I tried the steak, chicken, and speciality slow cooked beef tacos and they were so delicious. The rice and beans side is a great portion and tastes so good. The flavor is amazing and so is the service. I will definitely be coming back for more.
