Papa Chubby’s

This is the best hidden gem that I’ve found in the last 11 years. The food is absolutely incredible. Everything is farm fresh and home cooked. I felt like I was eating a meal at an old friend’s house. The service was excellent too. Our waitress was very friendly without being too involved in our conversation. The portions were positively southern. My wife and I are bringing home two to go containers of dinner and one of dessert. If anyone is within 50 miles of this place the drive is worth it. The cheesy steak sandwich with au ju and she is raving about it. The deep fried pickles are wonderful. It is truly a one of a kind place. One warning, the entrance is hard to see until you are right on top of it so watch closely and drive slow.

My wife and I shared a steak sandwich that was absolutely melt-in-your-mouth delicious. The bread was perfectly toasted—light and crispy without overpowering the steak. The steak was cooked just right, with a hint of pink in the center that kept it tender and flavorful. We also enjoyed the fresh salad bar, which offered a nice variety of tasty pasta salads alongside crisp lettuce. The interior was clean and comfortable, with classic sit-down restaurant decor. Service was attentive throughout, making for a pleasant dining experience.

Food was absolutely amazing. They have homemade hoagie rolls that will definitely make me come back again. My husband got the steak sandwich and he said it would be worth the 1 1/2 hour drive to come back just for that. Would highly recommend!

This is genuinely one of my favourite restaurants I’ve ever been to, service was great, you can tell papa Chubby was very passionate about his food as he talked to us, and the food was outstanding for a very good price and large quantity. I got the chicken sandwich and when they say it’s 1lbs of chicken they mean it!

Yeah, we must have showed up on an off night. Ordered a Ribeye Sandwich and Chicken tenders w/fries. It was more like a Beef Jerky sandwich with extra fat and Chicken tenders from Phoenix. They were so "Dry" I couldn't finish them. About halfway through the meal I finally got some BBQ sauce, but to little to late. Never got any stake sauce and we had more Flies at our table then a waitress. The two stars is for the salad and soup. "A Hidden Gem" as someone posted, half right, it should've stayed hidden! Next time when we go out for dinner, "Subway". Sorry, didn't "Papa Chubby" here!
