Customer Reviews
Pangaea Restaurant/Cafe truly went above and beyond our expectations for our rehearsal dinner. As two coffee lovers, we were delighted to celebrate in a space that doubles as a coffee shop by day. We trusted them to take care of our table arrangements and setup, and they absolutely nailed it. The tablescapes were elegant and we were surprised and touched to discover they had printed custom paper menus featuring our food and drink selections with our names on the front. Such a thoughtful detail. Their pricing was extremely competitive, especially considering the sophistication of what they delivered. They let us choose our own appetizer, entrée, and dessert options from a wide variety of choices. Our gluten-free and vegetarian guests appreciated having several delicious options to choose f
The food was delicious, the person who manned the counter to enter our order Henry was helpful, even checking in the kitchen to make sure they had stock on something, and let us sample an experimental new tea blend, which was terrific. We sat outside as it was such a beautiful day, but inside is nice too. Henry brought our order outside to us surprisingly quickly, considering the store was pretty busy at the time. I have eaten in the restaurant a number of times and always been very happy with the food. I’ve only been to the bistro once or twice, but felt that it deserved its own mention so people could enjoy the delicious foods for lunch as well as dinner.
Great breakfast sandwiches with choice of in-house baked breads. Try it with the Portuguese muffin and add bacon for a nice sweet savory balance. Good drip coffee and solid lattes! Staff is very engaging and friendly!
Had a very good gluten free cider donut, and my husband enjoyed his savory danish. However, the apple tea we ordered was weak and barely tasted like anything. We would definitely go back for the pastries though!
Have an affinity for Pangaea as we got engaged at Park McCullough in 2005 and after had dinner reservations. Arriving late, the owner asked 2 employees to stay as long as I made it worth their time. The idea if private dinner was perfect and as my wife tells the story Pangaea is always highlighted. Returned to the café for lunch today and N Bennington is quite the bustling little town. The café didn't disappoint, with a delicious lunch. We sat outside and watched the summer traffic, talked, and enjoyed the Vermont day! A must stop place when in the area!
