Palmer House Inn

My wife and I go to a bed and breakfast every year for our birthday. We have been to quite a few at this point. This year we chose The Palmer House, and what a great choice it was. We decided to stay for three nights and from the moment we arrived until the time we left was perfect. We stayed in the Teddy Roosevelt room, which had a king size bed, jetted tub, and a cozy fireplace. The guest house has a private entrance and is not attached to the main house, which allows for privacy. Now, let me talk about the breakfast. Every morning, we had a menu that was delivered to us. We asked if we could have breakfast in our room. They do have a dining room area if you choose to eat there. They were very accommodating in doing this and left the breakfast of our choice outside the room. They did n

We just returned from an amazing stay at the Palmer House Inn. Everything was perfect, from the exceptional hospitality by our gracious hosts, Tom and Billy, to the wonderful and warm service provided by their breakfast and cleaning staff. The Inn and grounds are absolutely beautiful and idyllic (I felt like I was in a Hallmark movie). It is extremely well maintained and very clean. The décor was lovely and reminiscent of my younger days. The beds and pillows are so comfortable that I wanted to bring them home. Our hosts thought of everything: mints, brochures and umbrellas as you enter the Inn, always available coffee, tea and hot cocoa as well as daily homemade (by Billy) baked goods such as brookies and banana bread as you enter the living room, board games and a large game table in the

We were warmly welcomed by Tom, Billy, Audrey and Zeus. We brought additional (younger) family members this time who were curious as to what we had raved about following our previous stay. They were amazed at the luxurious, super-comfy and authentic decor, the sumptuous breakfasts, and... every detail of our stay. It was all fabulous. (We were also lucky to come at peak foliage season this time!). We enjoyed walking through the town and down to the beach. The local businesses are great. Being at the Inn feels like being held in a warm embrace. The hosts are so attentive and helpful. Thank you so much for another wonderful experience! We'll be back!

Our four-night stay at the Palmer House Inn was outstanding. The inn and its grounds are beautiful, and the daily breakfast in the dining room was excellent. Service was attentive, and the location is ideal—just a short walk from downtown shops, restaurants, the museum next door, and the library. My wife and I enjoyed walks through town, nearby neighborhoods and along the water. We also enjoyed biking on the nearby bike trail, which provides easy access to Bourne and Woods Hole. Due to availability, we stayed in two different rooms. The James Fenimore Cooper room (room 3) was quite small, with a four-post bed with an overhead cover that did not allow benefit of the ceiling fan. In contrast, the Herman Melville room (room 7) was spacious and featured a much larger, well-appointed bathroom.

We enjoyed our stay here very much! The location was amazing as it was so close to the shops and restaurants! The Inn keepers were very pleasant and helpful!! The Inn was decorated beautifully and the rooms were very clean and the homemade breakfast was absolutely delicious! There are only very positives things to say about this Inn. They pay attention to all the small details. I will definitely be returning to this charming and quaint Inn!!!
