Palenque Mexican Restaurant

Never been here, the waitress was fine in the beginning. Then when we went to order my husband asked for verde sauce she said okay then when the food came out it had regular enchilada sauce. We asked her about it and she said they don’t have verde but it was shown on the menu. Then she didn’t refill our drinks and we waited for over 15 minutes to get a to go container for my food and the check, it was also expensive for the amount you get. I will not come back and I will not recommend this place to anyone.

I have eaten here several times trying to give them the opportunity to prove that the cost of their dishes is worth the cost and they have yet to prove their worth. I will NOT be giving them another option to prove it. The food is sub par and the California fries were under cooked and dusted ,and by saying dusted that is generous, with overly cooked meat. It said carnae asada, but that was a very loose interpretation of the meat. The coconut shrimp was 6 pieces of Gordan’s coconut shrimp with some very thinly slices carrots and celery for $13 the taquitos were oily and devoid of flavor. The service from Leslie was good then the other waitress was absent, I had to go get my own chip and salsa refill. Went into get dinner on a Sunday night after a long work day. Service to start was terrible. I felt like since I was an outsider I wasn’t treated as well. It took 10 minutes to get a drink and a thing of chips, then it took another 20 to get food, the steak in my meal was cold to lukewarm, beans were like a drink, and the tortillas were cold. I asked for some sour cream and I had to finally get up and go ask again. The waitress was standoffish and rude. Another lady went to help an other couple outside and took my credit card outside with her. Not okay, Terrible customer service and terrible food.

I had the chicken and beef steak fajitas, they were a little bit shy of meat but they tasted fantastic, the beans and rice were good also. The waitress was very attentive and nice to speak with. The tables and floors were clean, the lighting was perfect. Music was low and we were able to speak without yelling at each other. If this restaurant was close to home I'd be a regular customer.

I order food to go and it was ready in less than 20 minutes! Everything tasted great! And looked great! They are always friendly when I'm in there. Rice and beans are usually my favorite part of the meal. But the rice and beans where not as great as some other places- still good though- the beans are better than the rice. I've been here multiple times and will go again
