Osteria D' Assisi

If you’re looking for a fine dining Italian experience in Santa Fe I would recommend Osteria D’Assisi. The food is good but smaller portions. A lot of attention to flavor and freshness. The staff was a little overwhelmed with large groups so there was some waiting. The picture is a daily special of seafood with a mint pesto risotto which was great.

What a nice place to cap off our girls weekend. Searched thru multiple listing of restaurants to find the "right one" and we did. From Jay allowing us to move up our open table reservation time, to the servers, Sam and Damian, it was a lovely evening. Damian provided my friend with meal recommendations which she truly enjoyed.. I also enjoyed the menu selections I chose and we are glad we found this nice spot.

The ambiance is nice, it’s very cozy and clean inside. Our waiter was lovely initially, he made recommendations, was personable and kind. We ordered our drinks, which we unfortunately didn’t love. We order our appetizers, they came and were good. The wait between our appetizers and dinner was pretty extensive. When our dinner came, my duck, mashed potatoes and snow peas were liked warm at best. The fat on the duck was not rendered so it was very hard to cut through and even harder to chew through. When we noticed the waiter he seemed shocked and annoyed but offered to take the plate back and have it reheated. They did so and brought it back to me which was nice. However the waiter went out of his way from then on to stop at our table and least 3 times and let me know that for my informatio

We only had desserts and wine and all were great. Server Stephanie G was friendly and attentive.

The fried squash blossoms were beautifully presented and delicious. Drink and wine options very good. Both entrees were well balanced and flavorful, though the veal with rather tough. The Lemon cake with raspberry coulis- excellent. The service was below par, had to keep requesting silverware between courses, and waiting for forgotten water refills. Bread and oil/butter are not offered.
