On the River Restaurant & Catering

I was part of a very large event recently where On the River catered. I am Celiac and have limited choices when dining out. When I asked the owner if there were other choices that were gluten free, he immediately answered, Yes! We brought shrimp cooked GF! They are always so accommodating to my food allergy and I appreciate them so much. And the food is absolutely delicious!

Really really good food. You better be hungry cause the plates are full. Price is very reasonable. I WILL BE BACK!!!

This was a really good experience with really good food, add mustard greens that were different than I'm used to but incredibly tasty. Seafood gumbo what's made with a nice Brown gravy and a lot of flavor. I never had boudin balls before, and they were exceptionally good as well.

I was waiting for my dive boat to come in and this was the closest restaurant to the dock. The portions were huge. Giant iron pan of excellent cornbread. Good selection of American comfort foods. Good fish. Very reasonable price. Excellent service. Clean facilities.

I’ve been here several times throughout my life and it’s always been good. The cornbread and the coleslaw is one of many items that sets this place apart. You can’t really have a bad meal here. The fried seafood is always good and the onion rings are some of the best around. I got the steak and shrimp most recently and it was decent. A little tough but it’s probably because I ordered it a little overcooked. The Cajun grilled shrimp was really good. I would also recommend a margarita on the rocks if you are looking for a drink. Definitely come and check this place out if you have never been. 10/10 absolutely recommend.
