Olde Main Street Pub is an inviting Irish-style pub & restaurant tucked along historic Essex Street in downtown Salem. It's open Thursday through Sunday from 12:00 PM to 1:00 AM. On our first night in Salem, my friends and I chose this place for dinner, and we were immediately glad we did. Every dish tasted homemade and full of flavor, and the service, especially from our server Elisha, was warm, attentive, and personable. We started with the charred broccoli mac & cheese, which arrived piping hot and baked to perfection. Every bite was rich, creamy, and delicious. Honestly, it's up there with the best mac & cheeses I've ever had. For entrées, we shared the shepherds pie and the steak tips. The shepherds pie, made with a hearty mix of lamb, beef, peas, carrots, house mashed, and cheddar
Stopped here on our last day in Salem the weekend after Halloween. As with most of Salem, no reservations, so we hopped in the queue to be seated. Was very cold out and the wait is fully outside so be prepared for that here and at most other food stops. Our wait wasn't super long which was nice. The inside is a little crowded and is typical pub vibes. We ordered the house made curry and fries, the pork tenderloin sandwich, and the burger. Everything was good but nothing extraordinary, just pretty classic pub food.
The pulled pork was absolutely delicious, with a unique bbq flavor. The fries are a 12/10. The Broccoli Mac was also good very cheesy. Friendly staff and quick seating.
The drink specials were very tasty. Our party of 6 each tried different things and everyone was pleased. I got the autumn sprites $14. Beware they automatically add 20% tip onto bill for 2 or more people. Our hostess was very accommodating.
Amazing food! Love the indoor or outdoor seating. Everything we ordered was absolutely delicious!! Definitely will come back here to eat on our next Salem trip!!
