Old Town Cafe

I'm happy I stopped here for lunch. I ordered chicken tenders for my son. It came with a large amount of tenders, more than places normally give you plus fries and coleslaw. As far as chicken tenders go I'd say they were pretty good, moist and freshly made. He was happy with them. I ordered the BBQ pork sandwich. It was perfect. Lots of meat on the sandwich and the sauce was nice. Exactly what I wanted in a bbq sandwich. We also had a side of Mac and cheese which was the best I've found around here. I would recommend this place to friends. The inside is small so it fills up quickly. It was a full house when I went but the food still came out in a reasonable amount of time. Pleasant staff and the price of our lunch was more than fair for what we had.

Hands down the best fish I've had in Calvert County. Great batter that was light Airy and crunchy. The fish was delicious and cooked perfectly. This will be the go-to for me so far. The chips however or fries were a little disappointing and they were soggy but I can tell that they were trying to make them fresh. They were lacking seasoning. The collard greens were cooked perfectly and had a little sweetness/vinegar twist one them. Give this place a try.

It was ok but not quite what I expected. The menu said half chicken, I received a breast and wing (1/4) chicken. It was kind of bland so I asked for sauce. They only had two to chose from. The chicken seemed like it was re heated and not made to order. It did have a nice smoky flavor, but I wasn't convinced that it was from actually smoking, it was more like smoke flavoring. The young woman who served me was extremely polite and mannerful and super cute. I ordered a cookie after my meal and the cookie was amazing. One of the best cookies I've ever ate.

Read the reviews and was excited for some above average food. Service was great. Atmosphere drab. Ordered the brisket platter and the rib platter. Two sides per platter so got the fries, greens, mac, and beans. The brisket was cool and tough. Smoked brisket should never be tough if brought to the correct temperature to melt the collagen. The ribs were fall off the bone and tender, but didn't have the expected smokey flavor. Both bbq sauces were very good. The sides were average.

I had the crab cake sandwich, and an order of hush puppies, which were excellent! The service was prompt. There are probably 3 tables inside, so I ordered this to go. Will return.
