Trendy atmosphere with fresh and flavorful dishes. The omakase with saki pairing was absolutely delicious and well rounded with fantastic service. Highly recommend for an adventurous food experience from beginning to end. Located on a random roundabout in Carmel, this restaurant is a gem. They’ve mastered the art of fine dining and bridged the gap in brining authentic international ingredients to the Midwest. The food was so good, I forgot to photograph 3 dishes including the wagu beef finale. Cocktails are refreshing and on point. Jackson is a true mixologist.

We visited Okonori this weekend to try something new, and it truly offers a dining style that stands out from most places in Indianapolis. The space is modern, warm, and beautifully designed the atmosphere alone makes the visit worthwhile. The food follows a more traditional and authentic Japanese approach, clean, delicate preparations that highlight the natural flavors of each ingredient, especially the fish. The presentation is minimalistic and very refined. This is not the typical American-style Japanese food with heavy sauces or intense flavors, everything here is lighter, more subtle, and intentionally served just as the chef prepares it. It’s a different kind of dining experience, ideal for those who appreciate a more faithful expression of Japanese cuisine. I enjoyed it and would

Update: returned today for lunch and had the opportunity to try additional things from the menu now that they have had their grand opening and added more options. The nigiri was on point but everything we had was good. Had dinner during the soft open (first day) and it was good even though they are currently on a limited menu. The atmosphere is fantastic and I'm excited to return once they get fully up and running. So glad to have an upscale Japanese restaurant in the area!

The aesthetic of this Japanese restaurant is absolutely jaw-dropping 🤍—but the food was somehow even better. The edamame was hands down the best I’ve ever had, and the miso eggplant was incredible. The sushi and yudon noodles were just as delicious and perfectly executed. Even the bathroom was so gorgeous it deserved a mention in this review! Truly a 10/10 experience from start to finish.

The place looks gorgeous and you feel immediately good and fancy being there. The service was ok and I appreciate the effort. They try to make people feel taking care and served well. The disappointment was the food. We knew it would not be cheap. Checking on Google before going it was clear that is was a +100 restaurant and the menu is available on line. The problem is that the food doesn’t meet the expectations and it is overpriced. The Soto hotate were very good and also tofu. The eggplant was almost impossible to eat with chopsticks. I will raccomend you to order it just to have a laugh at the table as see non conventional ways people will find to get to eat it! The fish of the nigiri was amazing and if we go back I am going to order only nigiri ! The most disappointing was the s
