Was in the neighborhood and looking for a new spot to try- so glad I found OK Yaki! Our waiter was super welcoming and made great recommendations for our first visit. The patio was the perfect seating for the first day of nice weather. The Udon & Okonomiyaki were both really nice and fresh. The Hiyashi Kyuuri and the tonkatsu were a bit disappointing and one-note flavor wise. Next time we visit we’ll just try different starters.
When visiting Ok Yaki on a Friday night, the place with abuzz with merriment and energy. Definitely a happening place. Yet the food turned out to be average. I was expecting fireworks but instead found a gentle fizzle. Only one dish really impressed us – the Karaage – considering its great flavor, juiciness, and crispiness. The gyozas, on the other hand, we’re limp and flavorless. Every other dish we ordered was good yet unremarkable. That included a large okonomiyaki, the yaki udon, age-onigiri, tonkatsu, hiyashi kyuuri, and the teppan steak. We spent $127 for a four-person dinner, before tipping (no alcohol, no dessert, 2 mocktails, 6 small plates, and 3 main entrées). We won’t be returning to Ok Yaki.
Ok Yaki is one of my favorite spots in Atlanta. The moment you walk in, you can feel the good energy—the staff here is genuinely amazing, welcoming, and attentive. The vibe of the restaurant is relaxed but lively, making it a great place to grab dinner with friends or enjoy a cozy night out. The food is consistently great. My go-to order is the Yaki Udon and the age onigiri — both always hit the spot and are packed with flavor. If you’re looking for a drink to pair with your meal, definitely try the Kusuri Buck. It’s the perfect blend and highly recommended. The only downside is the parking. It’s limited, and there isn’t an overflow lot, so if the main spots are full, you’ll need to find parking nearby on your own. It’s not a deal-breaker, but something to keep in mind. Overall, Ok Yaki
Really a great little spot in East Atlanta Village! I’m a vegetarian and the options abounded. All of our dishes were delicious. We sat at the bar, and the service was personable and helpful. Will absolutely be returning.
I ordered the smaller portion of the yakisoba with tofu. While it wasn’t my favorite dish, it wasn’t bad either. The server, however, was great; very attentive, helpful, and asked all the right questions. The menu is simple and easy to read, and the price point is reasonable. My group thoroughly enjoyed their dishes, including the Japanese curry with fried tofu and the okonomiyaki with steak. Although my meal wasn’t exactly what I hoped for, I still appreciated the overall experience.
