OhioHealth Van Wert Hospital and Emergency Department

I just got home from a recent 5-day stay in the hospital. This hospital has gotten a pretty bad reputation in years past, but this is where my surgeon practices so my choice was to have my procedure done here. I really don't understand all of the negative reviews. From the moment I checked in, to the afternoon that I left, everyone treated me with dignity, respect and caring. It literally felt like a hotel stay where I had my own staff waiting on me. I was checked on at least every 2 hours during the daytime and was provided updates about my care each time. I was very much impressed with every aspect of my stay. I can't help but think that maybe people's attitude going into the hospital may have something to do with the negative reviews. This hospital is a diamond in the rough in today’s medical field. My wife was well taken care of medically. They did everything for her to make her get better. She had to be admitted she was there for two nights. I spent two nights with her and this place is like a Marriott hotel. I have nothing but excellent reviews right from this all the supervisors to the staff even the environmental people that keep everything clean. professionalism is 100% medical care 200% highly satisfied.

I can't say enough good about this hospital and their staff. Every staff member from every department was professional and kind well above any experience I've had in a hospital. I have absolutely no complaints, only praises. I would like to make special mention of Dr. Conte and his NP Andrew, Tom in anesthesia, and every nurse that cared for me.

If I could give less than one star, I would. Sub-Par care from a Sub-Par hospital per usual. Not one of thier staff members even did so much as look in on me for over 3 hours. I'm in the emergency room because it's an emergency, so don't stick your patients in a room and leave them there for 3 hours or longer without ever even checking on them. This place needs to be shut down! WHAT A JOKE! Don't bother wasting your time here. You'll probably die before you get looked at anyway. Take the drive to St Rita's. They're MUCH better and WAY more professional.

Everyone on the surgical floor was wonderful!! So helpful and kind! It was one of the best experiences we have had in a hospital. I highly recommend Van Wert Hospital!
