Oconee County Library

I love libraries, and patron them quite often. However, the last several times I've been here at the Oconee County Library, I've noticed the issues other reviewers have stated. Instead of having a set of doors or some kind of partition between the regular library area and the children's area, it is all completely open. I remember the children's library area as a kid being a quiet place where we were still expected to have other patrons in mind. I understand that there still needs to be an area for kids, but it absolutely should have been separate in some way. Even sitting in a private study room, as I am now, I can hear screaming, crying, and yelling. The study rooms have no soundproofing at all, with a glass door and window that does not fully shut. I can hear every conversation nearby. I

Clean but not really quiet during our visit. Also the customer service could have been better the staff looked right at me and didn’t speak or ask if I needed help. It was my first time coming to the library so that would have been nice. The parking was tight but free. Was able to take our niece to the Lego building class, but it wasn’t what I thought it would be it was only one other child there and the legos were just in a big box there was no staff or activities going on related to the event.

It is too hard to some up in one review just what all this public library has done for our family. From always being neat & tidy, to all the special events they have, and most of all Ms. Rebecca’s love for what she does with story time & performing and singing. We love OC library!!

Oconee County Library is such a great spot for families! They have tons of kids’ books, and the whole place is clean and nicely organized. Really a calm and pleasant environment—perfect for bringing your little ones or just enjoying some quiet time with the family.

Love the NEW Library in Watkinsville! It offers kid’s yoga, learn French or Viet Namese for adults, learn about native edible plants, open chess, etc….too many to name!
