Ochoa's Mexican Restaurant

Amazing, the salsa will set your mouth on fire most times, the waiters are kind, and the food is amazing! Nice Mexican music is playing in the background causing an overall lovely atmosphere.

The food is amazing, from the chips and salsa to the enchiladas and rice, all the food was some of the best we've had in a long time. Unfortunately the huge let down from the evening was the service, we felt basically ignored while the two tables beside us got served by the same waitress and what should have been a 40 minute dinner took over an hour and a half while all the other wait staff were in and out of the dining room taking care of their customers constantly. We will likely be back but only for take-out if available due to the lack of service.

How have zip driven past this place for 42+ years and never stopped before today? This is my new favorite Tex-Mex in Texas! The service was awesome. We were there toward the end of the lunch rush and our server was literally running her legs off to ensure we were taken care of. The lunch beef tacos were very tasty and the charro beans and rice were delicious as well. The iced tea was more than just brown water and didn't cost $4 like at most places these days. The salsa was absolutely outstanding. It was a cold salsa ( my preference) and, IMHO, the best I have ever had in East Texas. This certainly won't be my last visit, Good Lord willing and the Creek don't rise!

I'm only rating this a 1 star because the hostess did recognize us being present. Went to Ochoa's to eat the evening of 02/07. Finally greeted by the hostess. Requested a booth. I saw the booth when it became available so we're still waiting to go get seated there. Hostess come back, takes a couple to a table. Before sitting at table, she takes them to the booth that should have been ours!!!!! Hostess comes back and my friend asks ,"so you're just going to give our booth away like we haven't been sitting here waiting??" You knew we were waiting. All she could say was I'm sorry. At point, I'm not waiting to eat or hear any other excuses like we didn't matter, so we left. They didn't care to make it right as the Manager was at the register, heard everything.

We were seated as soon as we walked in . The guacamole and hot sauce was spot on. Our server was very pleasant. We each ordered a different entrée and all were good .
