Oceano Public Library

Like the other libraries in the area (apart from the "main" branch which is currently closed), this one is basically a stationary bookmobile that is open roughly twenty hours a week. I'm sure the staff is working hard with a non-existent budget (or something) but the system fundamentally falls short of the national standard. If you find yourself in the area and need resources beyond the ability to order books from somewhere else, this place isn't it.

We love our little local library! Some people complain about the lack of selection, but you can go on your phone or computer and reserve ANYTHING from the SLO County Library system, and it will be delivered to the Oceano Library. Nancy is a gem, and the kids programs are amazing: arts and crafts, storytime...I walked in last week to find a fireman reading a story to a rapt group of youngsters about a day in the life of a fireman...priceless!

Very cute local library. Great location near elementary school and oceano community center. Wonderful staff!

I came here in an emergency to complete a work task while I was on vacation. The lady in the library was SO friendly and she assisted me to get set up on the computer. The computer was not very fast but it got the job done. Very nice little library branch
