Ocean View Beach

One of the top beaches in the Norfolk/Virginia Beach metro area. The waves are not too bad. Perfect beach for families with kids. There is plenty of parking. Facilities are good. Crowds are not bad at all unlike other popular beaches in the area. Highly rate this beach. Must plan to visit

Public beach park with sheltered picnic area and public restrooms. Can get a little busy during tourist season, but the beach is expansive, so you can walk for miles in either direction finding just the right spot for you day of sun and fun. Lots of small crabs and even the occasional dolphin sightings as well. Summer months bring small jellyfish that will wash up, but that’s unavoidable pretty much everywhere. During the right conditions there are algal blooms which is, sadly, hazardous to wildlife; but provides quite the show of bioluminescent waves at night.

Ocean View Beach is much better now than it use to be in the 1980’s. Ocean View Beach was rough in the 1980’s. I just wanted to check it out again. This is definitely not my go to beach. Parking is not an issue here, lots of free parking available.

Took my dog in the morning for a few hours, and it was a great time. No dogs between 10am-6pm, but that leaves enough time in the morning so I don't have to wake up early. The beach was clean from trash, to include cans every 50ft or so, and clean restrooms.

We went while visiting family who lived on this beach. Has an amazing view and during the summer the water is a great temp. Not very crowded which is also nice.
