Ocean Star Restaurant Inc Beira Alta

Ordered take out from Ocean Star for the first time. Everything went smoothly. Started off with Calamari and it came with a sweet Chile sauce. Thought it was pretty good. Tried some cod fish cakes and they were okay. Went with the steak micalense with fries and rice and it was okay. Comes with an egg, peppers and garlic. Would have liked the garlic a little more cooked. The rice is pretty plain tasting. The wife had the shrimp Mozambique and she felt it was okay as well. Place has a good size parking lot and easy access.

The food was good. I liked the drink they made me and the bread was great. They had rissois as a special which I love. The little fried croquettes with fillings. I’ve been trying so hard to find a rissol de leitão somewhere so I was excited. Finding this place is confusing. The place itself is called like St John’s or something and just a small piece of computer paper on the door says Ocean Star Restaurant. It’s set up banquet-hall style and looks like it would be a good place for a large event. The bathroom is big with multiple stalls in it. There seems to be a separate area with a bar, sports on TV and billiards but I didn’t go in that room. Plenty of parking in the back (where the entrance door is; back on the side)

While in Fall Rivers my husband and I wanted to eat Grilled limpets ( Lapas ) and we came across this restaurant. We always ate at a different restaurant but they stop serving lapas . Anyways we are so happy we came across this restaurant. It was like eating at my mother in laws house in São Miguel. The food was amazing. The limpets the fresh cheese everything! I highly recommend!! It was but pricey for lunch but we drove far and wanted to makes sure we had our favorites. It definitely was worth the money to us!

We had such a great time and delicious food for an early dinner, all meal was fresh and very fast service a little gem in the heart of Fall River. They do cary a very a nice wine variety and their expresso martini was outstanding!

This place was great!! I tried the “Fried Octopus”. At first I was hesitant as I don’t care for fried food but this was cooked in Olive Oil 😍 Food was delicious and reasonably priced. Very laid back, open room concept and very casual. Staff was great. Can’t wait to go back! ~ New Hampshire Girl ~ Ana
