Ocean Grille

The food was just ok- nothing special about it. The Mai Tai was amazing! Definitely should have skipped my first drink and just went with that. Not bad for an in hotel restaurant.

The Ocean Grille is located inside the Hilton Melbourne Beach Oceanfront Hotel and is truly a hidden gem! The menu is chocked full of favorites with something for everyone. I had the Grilled Florida Salmon tonight and it was excellent. The food was well prepared and the presentation was spot on. My server/bartender was absolutely wonderful and was very attentive. I had a wonderful and fun dining experience tonight...thank you!

The Christmas buffet was horrible. The food tasted like cafeteria food and the lemonade was powdered, not even the good powdered like Country Time. It was more like what you get in an MRE. It was already packed and loud enough, but on top of that they had to add a guy playing saxaphone, going from table to table, trying to get tips. He stopped at the table next to us and was playing right in my ear. Worst Christmas dinner ever!

The food quality was amazing. But, for the pricing, I'm not sure how that can be justified. There was an automatic 22% gratuity on top of the room service fee and delivery fee (3 fees total) for just my wife and I. I don't mind tipping, but I'm not sure why there is gratuity on room service. I would have gladly cash tipped the person who delivered to the room, but instead, I'm not sure if she will see any of that. Just bear that in mind. Otherwise, the quality was fantastic for hotel food. Would go back next time and eat in the main restaurant vs. ordering room service.

Ocean Grille - Beachside Melbourne - 3 Stars. It's hard to gain inspiration to write witty reviews when there is nothing that stands out about a restaurant. The Ocean Grille is inside the Hilton Hotel, Beachside Melbourne. Just because a restaurant is inside a hotel should not scream average. In fact there is a restaurant inside a hotel in Orlando that has made my Top 5 in the United States List. Anyway, the Ocean Grille is run like that episode of the Lucy show where the conveyor belt keeps spitting out candy faster than Lucy and Ethel can box it. Chaos with lack of direction. My server, Chris, was a charming fellow from the islands. I only mention this because while he was prompt and courteous, he was completely unintelligible.
