Oberweis Ice Cream and Dairy Store

Great ice cream, even in the middle of January. You know eating ice cream on a cold day in January brings an early spring 🌼. Get your fresh milk and butter and of course ice cream here and don't forget the bacon and eggs, cakes and pies. Perfect nostalgic ice cream shop in North Aurora.

The ice cream is great. The place is cute. Staff is nice. What's not so great, is the selection of flavors. This location, compared to other locations, lacks the variety shown at other locations. There's no lemon, honey, peppermint, liquor flavors. It's very boring choices.

I’m genuinely disappointed with the current state of Oberweis Dairy. It used to be my go-to spot, known for its delicious ice cream and inviting atmosphere. However, since the change in ownership, the prices have become exorbitant. The cost of a single scoop has increased dramatically overnight. Interestingly, I noticed that an old-fashioned sundae now costs less than a single scoop of ice cream, which is quite illogical. It seems the new management prioritizes profit over customer experience. It’s baffling that my ice cream order now exceeds the price of a full dinner. To add to that I noticed, their new “Valentine’s Day sundae” is priced at $25, which feels like highway robbery. I’m not sure who would pay that much. I had a hot fudge sundae through the drive through and the fudge was great but I felt like the ice cream was too fake because when I got home to eat it (about 20 min) it was barely melted and the ice cream had a rubbery consistency to it. I appreciate that it barely melted but the rubber consistency just puts me off. It had whipped cream on it and a generic cherry and was in a nice sealed container so it didn't spill and that was nice. Other then that I have always loved oberweis even if they are pricey.

I love the smell of waffle cones in the morning! That's my thought when I enter. The ice cream is top-notch. A lot of the cooler items are priced similarly to chain grocery stores but of better quality.
