Yes, North Italia again, really can't help it. This time ordered their Chef's Board, the Classico one, which has prosciutto di parma, speck, whipped ricotta & eggplant caponata, pecorino stagionato, house giardiniera, castelvetrano olive, marcona almond, orange fennel mostarda, hearth bread. Put a little bit of everything on the board onto the bread, you'll love it Asked for the alternative based on my favorite Spicy Rigatoni Vodka, they recommended Shrimps Tagliatelle, served in creamy sauce. Shrimps were well seasoned and grilled, while the entire dish didn't bring up the flavors of shrimps nor the sauce. Pity.
I visited North Italia when it first opened in Cerritos and was excited to try a new Italian option in the area. The experience was okay overall. The food wasn’t bad, but it didn’t fully meet my expectations. While I understand they aim for Italian flavors, having tried more authentic Italian pizza and bread elsewhere, the taste here didn’t quite compare for me. That said, this is just my personal experience, and others may enjoy it more. Since Cerritos doesn’t have many Italian restaurants beyond Olive Garden, it’s still nice to have a new option nearby. I’d encourage people to give it a try and decide for themselves.
First time at this restaurant, and honestly, I did not have high expectations for these reasons: it occupies what used to be California Pizza Kitchen (I consider a casual restaurant) and it's literally in the mall. I guess Cerritos Center is revamping most of its business image by offering finer dining options. We snagged a reservation for 3 adults plus a toddler through Open Table. There was no wait, so highly recommend reservations. Spacious, multiple tables, bar and counter seating plus an outdoor patio area. Food is described as seasonal, so the menu offering today will be definitely changing to a fall palate in a few days. Split a seasonal vegetable salad (described as full of delicious bits of chopped pistachio, the usual greens, plus chopped snap peas, grilled asparagus ( I honestl
I’ve only eaten at the bar, so I can’t comment on the full restaurant experience. However, their White Truffle Garlic Bread alone keeps bringing me back. The bread itself is pure heaven and then they add this creamy ricotta to it and my god it’s like I’m transported to another dimension. Their cocktails are strong and decadent. I haven’t found anything I wouldn’t order again. Prices are high, but their happy hour pricing helps.
I'm happy that North Italia has opened a location in Cerritos. I've been to several locations further away; all were good experiences. My family has dined here a few times already, and each time has been pleasant. Service has been friendly and attentive. I recommend setting up a reservation during peak dining times. For the food, we usually start with the White Truffle Garlic Bread, which was very good; I could have had an order all to myself. We've also shared The Pig pizza, Hot Honey & Smoked Prosciutto, Fungi, and Margarita pizzas. The flavors and ingredients are good with a crisp and chewy crust. For my main entrée, I've had the Tortelloni al Pomodoro, which was flavorful and cheesy, with a fresh tomato sauce. The basil leaves added a nice earthy flavor as well. The Squid Ink Tonnarel
