My husband and I stayed here for a little weekend get away. It was us and 1 other couple. We had a great time. Steinar is an amazing host and kept us laughing the whole time we were there! He is definitely outgoing and out to keep his guests having a good time. His humor can be dry/crude/political etc but we knew that going into it and it didn't bother us one bit, after all.....he is "the crazy Viking". The food is amazing and well worth the price! The rooms are very nice for the price you're paying. The first night we stayed in Odens Loft, yes, it's a loft, no door but there is a very large "bathroom" area where the jacuzzi and all that jazz is and that has a door. The bed, tv, tables etc are literally in the loft, you can hear and see everything that is going on below but we had no issue

Stayed here on our honeymoon and it was easily one of the most memorable trips we've been on (and we didn't even stay on a weekend with a dinner production). Lodging was very nice. We stayed in the Freya suite and although we had a humorously difficult time turning the shower off (user error) or try the bidet, the accommodations were very nice. The tap beer selection is great (as were the prices) and the food was hands down amazing. If I had more money, I would have bought his sweet looking Viking gear or a helmet (some day...) but I did get an engraved, painted drinking horn with my alma mater's Viking logo on it. As a host, Steinarr is great. He has a wonderful sense of humor and a refreshing outlook on life. Even though we haven't stayed there again (yet), we have still stopped by whe

I've seen Steinarr a couple times on the Travel Channel about five years ago, and I've been dying to go to his Inn ever since. Even though we were his only guests on Father's Day 2015, he spent all the time we wanted to spend with him and his Great Dane Thor. I expected him to be like he was on t.v. My best friend and I really enjoyed his down to earth, philosophical side with splashes of silliness. I knew I was going to like a guy who encouraged me to do my monkey call within five minutes of meeting him and have world views that resembled my husband's. He gave us a tour of his Inn like it was his first year owning it. The "Locker Room" made me feel like a kid again, from the walls to the bedding. The bed was so soft and cozy. The beds faced each other versus being side to side whi

I first met Steinarr while tailgating at Minnesota Viking games in the late 1990's and he would tell me about the concept he was creating. A Viking Castle Bed and Breakfast with interactive dinner theatre and an experience that would create memories for all participants. I was skeptical until I finally saw the place for the first time. Steinnar had taken an old Methodist Church and transformed it into his vision. It is a constantly evolving creation and the stories he tells of the sweat equity and the history behind creating a space this unique is worth the visit. As you may notice from some of the negative reviews, this place is not for everyone. If you need a room for the weekend while ice fishing, check out a Motel 6. If you want a surreal experience to make you realize we should

My husband and I went to the Viking lodge 18 years ago for our 2nd anniversary. This time, we decided to return and celebrate our 20th Anniversary at the Inn with our 2 boys (ages 11, 13) , family, friends, and small dog. Our group ages ranged from 2 years old to grandpa. Two families flew in just for this weekend. My husband and I wanted everyone to have a good time and yes we did! ||They cooked great meals for vegetarians and meat eaters. What most impressed me is that the jokes were pg. I was not uncomfortable hearing them with my adolescent kids. In addition, they adjusted very well to our early to bed and rise schedule. We were very impressed with the lessons on Vikings and the costumes.||Our dog is 13 pounds and got along well with Thor the Great Dane.||The lodge was very clean an
