What a sick place! The entrance was a little hard to find (off the main road) - but that's part of the charm, right? The vibes were immaculate, to say the least. It was very cozy and warm, but gave like a party you'd see in a 70s or 80s movie. Plenty of seating, but standing and meandering seemed encouraged too. The drinks were inventive and unique - some citrusy, some spirit-forward, some with ingredients some may have never heard before. They also serve food, and we'll definitely be back for that! Great spot, would recommend visiting with a good group.
I loved everything about Noma except for an aspect of Minneapolis bar culture that is becoming prolific. Bartenders, excuse me, mixologists, do not engage with their customers. Perhaps because of my age, I enjoy conversing with humanity. I spend time on the computer, but it isn't my friend. While the servers behind the bar were professional, they gathered at the end of the bar, talking amongst themselves. I guess that's a Minneapolis thing. Noma's space, with fantastic lighting reminiscent of Minari, one of Chef Del Prado's other spots, is fabulous. A basement lair, Noma's takes Edina into a world of sophistication never seen before. I have spent time in Tokyo, and Noma would fit in well in Ginza or Aoyama. While Japanese Hi Fi or LP bars emphasize the sound system and the music b
Noma Hi-Fi Bar is one of the coolest spots I’ve been to in a long time. It’s tucked downstairs in the 50th & France area and instantly feels like a hidden escape. The lighting is low and moody, the candlelit tables are such a vibe, and the hi-fi vinyl setup makes the whole space feel elevated and intentional. The cocktails were absolutely fantastic. We ordered the Standby and Lil’ Fang and both were some of the best cocktails I’ve had recently. Creative flavors, perfectly balanced, and worth the price. The food was also a highlight. The spicy salmon donburi was recommended by our server and it was incredible. Simple ingredients but perfect execution. We also had the milk bread and it was the perfect snackable plate to share with drinks. Service was excellent and attentive throughout the
Finally, a spot in the 50th & France area that actually brings the vibe. This place is exactly what Edina’s been missing — next-level cocktails that are crazy creative, perfectly dialed in, and served in a space that just feels effortlessly cool. I ordered the Lovecat and it completely blew my mind — unlike anything I’ve ever tasted, in the absolute best way. This is the kind of bar you’ll want to gatekeep… but also tell everyone about.
Hi! Former bartender/server here. My two girlfriends and I arrived around 10:15 on a Saturday night. The place seemed busy, but nothing crazy. There were two couples in front of us and a large group that came in behind us. One of the couples said they had been waiting for 15 minutes and were told they couldn’t order a drink while they stood and waited for a table. It took about 10 minutes for us to even be noticed by the host who said “sorry, we’re fully occupied, we can’t seat you”. When we asked if there was a wait or if it was reservation only, they told us it would be an hour wait, which is wild because there were several open tables and people standing up to leave. Then the large group behind us walked up to the front, stood back in line, and somehow were seated within a few minutes.
