Nino's Pizzeria

While visiting Mohegan Sun and staying at a local hotel, we stopped by Nino's for a quick dinner. We always look to eat somewhere local vs the big chains and such. SO HAPPY we found Nino's. Anthony has got to be one of the friendly's restaurant owners we have ever met! We have some dietary restrictions and can't eat food with most seasonings, so he offered to cook up some fresh chicken for the sub we got. And have to say, it was GREAT...fresh and tasty! And while we were waiting, he offered us a slice which my very hungry daughter appreciated. He knew we were not local repeat customers, but treated us as we stopped by every week. Our only disappointment is that we won't stop by again until out next trip to Mohegan...wish his shop was around the corner from us!

Ordered to go; the pasta nepolitana and honestly it’s so confusing the description. I was so excited to try it but it actually was like soup. No marinara. Super watery and the mozz came in a huge chuck in the middle. I also ordered a side of meatballs and nothing. Actually so disappointing:( Def not worth $26.

Second time in Connecticut, the dispensary down the road suggested this restaurant. First time having stuffed pizza, I got one that had pasta inside of it. SO SO SO DELICIOUS!!!! I’ve eaten pizza in Rome, Venice, New York and Chicago. Honestly this stuffed pizza is it. YOU BETTER GO. Oh and the team was friendly and gave us a tiny slice of pizza while we waiting. It was the vegetarian. Also delicious.

I am so happy right now! I hate paying for delivery especially through third party apps because it costs so much and I can't afford it. I'm on a fixed income, but once a month when I get paid I splurge and I splurged tonight on this. It was well worth every dollar that I spent (although I wish I had a car so I could go get it and not pay all the fees with the app). I've been buying antipasto from so many different restaurants and have not been happy with any of them until now. I'm not even done eating but I had to post a review! I ordered 2 garlic knots (which I love that I can order individual ones and not a whole appetizer) it was so delicious! I took a bite and it melted in my mouth with that buttery parmesani deliciousness! I had heated up some tomato sauce but I didn't even need that!

The rumors are true. Everyone loves Nino's. I've had a couple misses - the stuffed mushrooms were an overrated dinner special and some of the pasta dishes have left me wanting. But overall, I have had a lot more hits, mostly in the pizza and dessert departments. Yes, yes, yes, get the grandma slice. Most importantly, the staff is phenomenal. They are cool under pressure and always ready to take care of you, no matter how busy they get. Thanks Nino's!
