Night Heron Bread

I've tried a few things from this bakery and can say they really do make great bread—especially the country loaf and the baguette, which are both excellent. However, I recently decided to try something new at the farmers market and ordered a "pie dog" (a hot dog wrapped in pie dough) with tomato jam. While the jam was tasty, the pie dog itself was disappointing- it was served cold, the dough was hard and flavorless, and the dog was wrinkly and chewy. Unfortunately, it just didn’t work for me. If pastries are on the menu, I’d suggest finding a way to serve them warm and fresh.

We visit them almost every week on Saturday at the farmers market. Delicious bread and wonderful people. Be sure to try a variety of their offerings!
