Food taste is okay, BUT: Our expectations were high, too high! that might be a reason that taste couldn't keep the expectation. The mixed meat platter was expensive and didn’t cover all meat! (Yes, we requested to replace beef with mutton/lamp kebab since we wanted to avoid beef for that day). But it didn’t have have enough meat, moreover the rice was also short in amount. With only 2 meat (chicken+lamb) it should NOT be called as "mixed meat". There should be chicken+lamb+beef all together. (For our case, since we wanted to replace beef with lamb, it could double the lamb) One thing I think, they could include 1 naan with the platter. Bak lava was delicious, a must try item!
One of my favorite restaurants in Moorhead, and for good reason. The kebab and lentil soup is excellent, they also had a delightful lamb shank when we came in that I knew I had to try. All the meat was delightfully moist and well seasoned, the side salad complemented it nicely, and the soup had a lovely light and savory flavor to it. The service was fantastic! The gentleman at the counter was very friendly, pointed out the specialties they had on offer (including the aforementioned lamb shank, and lamp chops), and even offered my spouse a cup of hot tea on the house. Portion size is great, and the images around the restaraunt allow a peek into the rich history of the Kurdish culture while you enjoy your food at a leisurely pace. I’ve eaten here three times before, and I will doubtlessl
I wouldn't recommend it to anyone. I used to come here for the gyro, but the last three times I've come, they've said it's sold out. A meal for three was very expensive, the food was terrible, and excessively spicy. I like spicy food, but the spice they added tasted like a chemical chili. The restaurant owner should inform customers that their food is very spicy. Don't waste your time and money; there are other good restaurants nearby.
I had the pleasure of trying Baaklava today for the first time at NewRoz Kebob. I ordered the lamb, which included a lamb kebab and lamb tika. The flavors were delicious. I also invited the variety of drinks available.
I ordered Kebab to go. Came with a nice cucumber smelling sauce that went great with the tomatoes and onions in the rice. I really enjoyed this meal. The store was very clean, had nice wooden tables, and I enjoyed all the pictures and reading the information about Kurdistan while I waited for my food. Easily one of the best spots in Moorhead.
