New York Pizza

Visiting my mom back in the town where I grew up, getting pizza has always been one of our traditions. Sadly, our longtime go-to spot (open nearly 40 years!) has closed, so this trip we decided to try New York Pizza in Stanardsville. We ordered two small side salads, breaded mushrooms, and a supreme pizza. Calling it in on a Monday night came with about a 25-minute wait — completely reasonable. The salads were fresh and very generously portioned. I chose the blue cheese dressing, and it definitely tasted homemade. The breaded mushrooms were cooked perfectly — a nice addition, even if fairly standard for a pizzeria. The pizza itself was very tasty and cooked just the way we like it. Usually this place isn’t bad for the area we live in and I do appreciate the delivery being available. The drivers are great with communication and I have no complaints there however tonight my pizza was barely edible and I had to scrape off the large sludges of ricotta so thick that it gave an unpleasant texture. Here’s a photo for reference. I ordered the white pizza and for the first time I am extremely disappointed and hope this was an off night. Didn’t call to complain due to not wanting to force a driver to come back out so late.

I came here with my eight-year-old niece for lunch and we both loved the pizza, she especially loved how crispy the crust was. The food came out so incredibly fast and we told the owner how wonderful it was. He was the sweetest and brought my niece a delicious dessert, which she absolutely loved. It was a wonderful lesson in kindness and made our day.

Its mid for the area so i understand the reviews from pensioners. After asking for my pizza to be cooked extra, i just had the dougy-est undercooked pizza ever. Need better quality control. Sadly the toppings and sauce have a good season. (The cheese and dough are lacking in this department). Mozarella sticks seem prepackaged. I had high hopes for a NY pizza place. EDIT: the store reached out and offered a refund for the error, it cleared a week later

First time at NY Pizza. My husband and I have been looking for a pizza lunch spot for a while now. I am from the Philadelphia area and I am very picky about my pizza. Let me tell you. This place is fantastic. The crispy crust on the pizza and sauce to cheese ration is spot on! We also had a pizza steak and pizza fries. So so good. Also, the owner and cashier were both so personable. Checked on us to make sure we were ok a few times as well! If you haven’t been there, check it out. Found out they deliver as well!!
