New Roots Coffeehouse

The coffeehouse is right next to a Starbucks, and was open on Columbus Day, which I was positively surprised about. I had an early doctor's appointment and had to get some work done online, desperately trying to find a quiet place to do so. I didn't necessarily feel like frequenting the Starbucks next door and picked the New Roots Coffeehouse, which seemed a good choice. It's quite cozy inside. The baked good seemed to have been homemade. I was looking forward to a Cappuccino and a Muffin... Let's say it that way: For a quite 'proud price' of nearly $12, coffee and muffin were both of mediocre quality and I was disappointed. The place itself is cute. I take issue with other reviews expecting sparklingly perfect customer service at all times. They use Fingerlakes Coffee Roasters, which is... not great coffee. Shifting that alone would really up the game. I paid the same I would have paid at much fancier coffee shops in downtown Rochester with higher quality beans. That said - ABSOLUTELY better than Starbucks!!

It was the first time visiting there with my best friend, even though you were just around the corner from us all these years. The food fell a little short and a little flat for my taste my breakfast sandwich has very little bacon and The bacon that was in the sandwich was undercooked, stringy and chewy. Not much flavor. The sandwich was a little small to be quite hones. The sandwich wasn’t very hot it maybe could be served with a side. Atmosphere, not too bad could use a few more tables where the kit area is. Those tables are a little short and if they’re not being utilized, you should make more adult seating.

Snuck back home for a long weekend and returned to a coffee shop that I haven't been to in ages. I don't remember it being a favorite, so I was skeptical. I was pleasantly surprised because our experience was fantastic. The batista was friendly....quiet....but friendly. They had many coffee flavors to choose from, and I had a rasberry mocha latte. It was hot and flavorful. We also ordered a breakfast sandwich that was tasty, too. There is indoor seating and outdoor seating are available during the warmer months. There is a music and art studio in the same building. You can also buy coffee beans and have a variety to choose from. Highly recommend checking out and giving them a try.
