The bar honestly wasn't high, but this was probably the best dining experience I've had in Keyport, or close to it. I came here this past Saturday for an early dinner with the Millennial Chum and Co. I've driven or walked by this place a bunch of times, and I've always liked the exterior - it reminds me of an NYC Irish bar, if that makes sense. Not what I'd expect from a sushi establishment. I will say as a caveat that it IS smaller inside than I expected; it's basically one narrow corridor, so as a result it doesn't really have an opportunity to flex its interior design muscles too much. I visited here on 2/14/26 around 6:30. Ordered a sushi roll which was the salmon avocado roll. Took about 45 mins to get to the table for one roll. It tasted fine. The next day (2/15/26) i started to feel a little funny and had no appetite. Went to sleep that night and by early the next morning (2/16/26) I was violently throwing up in 10/15 minutes intervals. This went on for roughly 2 more days until I was admitted into the hospital on 2/18/26 Wednesday evening due to severe dehydration, dizziness,lethargy, and confusion. I've been going to this place on and off for decades, and normally I would give it 5 full stars because it deserved it in the past. However, having recently gone there, I'm a little bit disappointed in what this place has become. Don't get me wrong, the food tastes absolutely outstanding and the people and the hospitality are second to none. The problem is that you'll notice the prices are relatively cheap for this day and age, and there is a reason for that...... because the portions you get are tiny. They used to give you very generous portions, but the portions I received the last time I went there looked more like food rations. I mean it was barely enough to fill a cavity. After years of coming here and enjoying their delicious food, today, summer came early in spring, catching them off guard. The food took over an hour to arrive, but not once did they show signs of being overwhelmed or negative. They always maintained a positive attitude and a friendly smile. The food eventually came and, as always, was delicious! Towards the end, the owner stopped by, was pleasant, and apologized for the delay, although it wasn’t necessary, as the food and service were, as always, spectacular. This place is a staple in the central Jersey area and is a must-visit. The food is consistently good, and the service and genuineness of the staff are bar none! Oh, and by the way, it’s BYO.

Customer since opening day. Hard working family owned. Sushi bar, dining indoor and outside deck. Fun place to celebrate occasions. Menu is a generous offering of Asian Fusion. Sushi top notch. BYOB. Reasonably priced.
