Nelson's Buffeteria

Just like in school, you walk up to the serving line and tell them what you want, they make your plate, you take it to your seat and enjoy a fantastic meal. The menu varies by day, but has a staple of select comfort food that is served daily. The food is well prepared, we had the chicken fried chicken and baked spaghetti. The CFC was hand breaded and seasoned well and the baked spaghetti was as good as any fancy restaurant. The staff was friendly. I would highly recommend it.

One shouldn't get so excited about hot food arriving at the table. I mean, aren't you at a restaurant ordering food, and it is being cooked for you? Sadly, though, it seems that hot food has become an outlier. At least lately. But, this is not the case at Nelson's; the food was too hot to dive into! And what food it was! Not that crepe-like folded-over omelet with whatever meat, cheese, or veggie is tossed in, no. This omelet was fluffy, and its innards (meats, veg, cheese!) were distributed throughout and well-cooked. (Another anomaly in the breakfast industry) The hash browns were not cooked to a crackly crunch, but browned and tasty. And the biscuit and gravy: has my gran been reincarnated and come to work in Nelson's kitchen? I'd return to Tulsa just for those biscuits and gravy. Oka

I previously accidentally hit a “no” when asked if it was worth the price. That was an accident and it is definitely worth the price and it’s a wonderful place to go and have lunch! Excellent catfish on Friday, with other great choices to have with your entrée! Oh, and can I say that their lemon pie which is offered on Fridays is made with real lemon squeezed juice. No artificial flavors! It is absolutely the best lemon pie I have had in years. All I can say is you will not be disappointed one bit. You will love this place and want to go back, as I have!!

I’ve only been coming here the last 3 days but the food was amazing! I’ve tried something different each time, although the chicken fried chicken is by far my favorite so far. Best mashed potatoes around! The service is amazing, the atmosphere is fun. You know it’s good when the lines out the door and tables are full during lunch. Very grateful this place is so close to where I work. $15 for a full meal and some great corn bread! Try it if you haven’t. Awesome comfort food and pies. This place deserves more than 5 stars.

Southern comfort food with a warm, welcome environment! Very friendly service! We arrived, unknowingly, right before closing and they accommodated us without question. Made our food entrees to order and encouraged us to take our time. Highly recommend the fried chicken, chicken fried steak, flavorful sides. A Tulsa staple.
