Natchitoches Picnic Company

Adorable little place to grab a sandwich or gumbo-to go or snag a seat inside this cute establishment. Want Gelato? They have that as well. The proprietor was as friendly as they come. This is a counter service set up. Looked like they may have a separate coffee counter but we were there for dinner.

I came in with two coworkers for what was supposed to be a quick lunch. My receipt said 12:10 p.m.—apparently the kitchen read it as “serve sometime before sunset.” By 12:40, after watching two other tables (who ordered after us!) get their meals like VIPs, one of my friends finally had to go investigate whether our order had been sent to Narnia. When the food did arrive, my turkey panini looked like it had given up on life. Not grilled, cheese and turkey still cold—basically a sad sandwich that wanted to stay in the fridge and nap. Safe to say, I won’t be dining here again. I like my meals warm and my wait times shorter than a Netflix episode.

I first met Laurie while preparing for my husband’s retirement party, and I’ll never forget how much peace she brought to an otherwise overwhelming time. I was juggling so many details, and the thought of feeding our family at the Airbnb added even more stress. From the moment we spoke, Laurie’s calming presence and thoughtful suggestions made me feel at ease. She understood exactly what I needed: delicious, effortless food delivered with kindness and care. The food was incredible, but it was Laurie’s warmth that made the experience truly memorable. My absolute favorite is the Turkey Avocado. It’s fresh, flavorful, and beautifully made, just like everything at NPC. I’m so grateful to have found this little gem in Natchitoches.

If you eat here expect long wait times. Even if the place is empty. Food is good though and the store is cute.

I tried Natchitoches Picnic Company for the first time today. I purchased the sack lunch which included (there are choices) a cup of soup of the day, the berry salad, and a more than tempting brownie. All was delicious!!! I will be ordering again! Soon!!!
