I felt like I won the Italian Lottery when ı grabbed the last loaf off the shelf just before closing time. We made it thru MBS Airport security and back home on to my balcony for an egg salad sandwich with Napolitano bread. A robin I call, "Big Mama" smelled that heavenly scent from the ovens of Saginaw and immediately flew up in my face begging for a taste. It's got such a unique combination of flavor and texture. One bite in and all of my childhood memories flood back to me of brown bagging peanut butter sandwich lunches, Sunday morning french toast, regular toast with Amish butter and my Aunt Cat's homemade raspberry jam, days old bread seasoned and toasted into salad croutons, and leaving bread crumb trails for the birds to find me when I ran far away from home.
Bought two loaves of bread in Frankenmuth and when we returned to Gaylord the next day they were both moldy.
I was just at Tony’s restaurant near Birch Run and had some of the best Italian bread ever. They use Napolitano Italian bread for their toast and it is amazing. They also sell loaves of it sliced and unsliced at Tony’s Restaurant. Absolutely delicious bread!! Vivo Italiano!
The round Italian loaf is to die for! I just wish Meijer & Kroger could keep it stocked! Jacks seems to do a better job of having it available. I always freeze half of it because it does mold within a couple of days since its not processed junk like other bread.
I called the number on the bread loaf package for information on how to buy the bread in my area and complimented them on the taste and quality. The woman on the other end was extremely rude and cut me off. With that attitude they can keep their bread. Try Turano pane loaf from Aldi.
