Myung Dong Tofu House & BBQ

It just dawned on me now that this is a tofu house and bbq. I was just really wanting to eat Korean food before catching our afternoon flight. As i was browsing on the menu and saw short beef rib soup, immediately i know thats what im getting. The short beef rib soup's broth was really good. I appreciate the amount of glass noodles in it. The beef can be tenderized more, but not a deal breaker. My husband had the octopus kimbap in hot stone, and he really likes it. I forgot to mention the banchan. They were really good and matched our entrees.

Pretty good tasting tofu soup. I asked for spicy and it was pretty mild, but the overall flavor was good. The banchan could have been better, but it definitely isn’t the worst. I had the little one with me at the time and it was awesome that they had an option for a kid’s tofu soup with rice. That was a lifesaver. This spot is in a small plaza, so parking was a bit of a pain.

We were looking for a Tofu soup place in the area outside of our normal places in Irvine and Garden Grove. I would say Myung Dong’s Tofu soup was just ok - it was lacking something I can’t put my finger on. The spicy pork was good but the fried fish was nothing special. The service was good and it looks like a family owned restaurant. Overall this was just a ok restaurant.

One of my go place for galbi ribs and tofu stew! Was craving for something spicy and warm to eat after a long day! I came around 5pm and got seated right away. They took my orders right away and the owner of this place is really nice and welcoming. I really love the banchan here so delicious and authentic. The beef tofu stew also came with an egg in which you crack in the stew and let it cook. The short rib galbi was tender and full of flavors so delicious! This was definitely satisfying after a long day! Overall food and service was amazing and I will sure come back again. Thank you for your service :) Restaurant is spacious and clean.

Not really a person to get inspired to write reviews but for this restaurant, I felt the need and want to share how amazing this restaurant it is. First we got there early, about 15 min early to avoid lines and they opened the doors for our kids to wait inside as it started to get windy and sprinkle. Love the location as it’s easy to get to but the parking sometimes can get packed as there are new restaurants and coffee shops in the same plaza. The food was awesome. The gentleman that served and helped us shared about how much effort and passion his dad puts into the Seafood pancake. It’s the best I’ve had.
