Mullin's 1847 Restaurant

We had dinner at Mullin’s 1847 in Moorefield, WV and tried the boneless pork chops and their special of the day, Prime Rib. The boneless pork chops were a bit dry for my taste, and the fries were too soft—they lost their shape when picked up. The loaded baked potato was tasty, but I wasn’t informed that “loaded” came with an extra charge when the waitress asked. That said, the portions were generous—so much so that I couldn’t finish both side dishes. The Prime Rib was a letdown. We ordered it medium rare but received it closer to medium. It didn’t taste like it was cooked as a traditional whole roast; instead, it seemed pre-sliced and cooked per piece, which made it dry and not as juicy as prime rib should be. Had a wonderful experience at this restaurant tonight! Surprised with bread and cinnamon butter to start us off. Began with two local beers and the crab stuffed mushrooms. Excellent. Main course: we had the shrimp Alfredo and crab cakes - delicious! (Being served sauces in plastic to go while dining in was a little weird). Atmosphere: To eat where Ulysses S Grant and Robert E Lee once were had me geeking out! The history of this place is amazing! Our server was nice too! We will be back!

First visit to this restaurant. We were very pleased with the service and atmosphere. The waiter was very attentive and friendly. The special was a steak sandwich and fries, and my husband was very pleased with that choice. I got the crab nachos and can’t compliment them enough. They were amazing! Very good portion sizes as well. Will definitely visit again!!

I ordered the lunch special. Cheeseburger and fresh cut fries. My son ordered the meatloaf, mash potatoes n gravy, and carrots. Our food overall wasn't bad. My fries were a little overcooked (see pic) but still edible. Our waitress was awesome and very attentive! I probably would eat here again.

We first waited 1.5 hours just for bread. We waited 2.5 hours for food. Another party that was seated actually left from waiting so long - and no, they were not packed by any means. Food was cold when we got it, the steaks tasted rancid and I unfortunately believe they were serving bad meat. Restaurant did almost nothing to make it right. Manager didn’t even come to speak with us. Waitress was kind but the restaurant itself is severely overpriced for the quality leaving the kitchen. We waited an additional 40 minutes for the checks. Save yourself and go down the street to the Mexican restaurant. It pains me to have to leave such a review for a locally owned business, but I’ve never had such bad food at what I would have thought to be a nice establishment. On the bright side, their bathroo
