Mt Vernon Family Restaurant

Stopped in for lunch on an all day drive. The folks are welcoming and provided great service. My wife had a skillet and I had the turkey and bacon club. Everything was delicious. Nice place to blend in with the local crowd and enjoy some fresh cooked dishes.

I truly love the people that are here. But I have to be very honest I got the house club w. Fried mushrooms. And it cost $19.00 . The mushroom were either missing or so small I could not taste them. They were gummy. Sandwich was good. I don't know what is going on but usually they are so much better.

This is a lovely and very clean diner. The beef liver was delicious, but the gravy in the biscuit gravy was bland. I am looking forward for the next time.

Typically don't go this way home to Branson. The Lord led us on a special journey and we just happened to get hungry. Ended up at Mount Vernon Family Restaurant. After all the holiday food we just wanted a burger and fries. This place did not disappoint and the young lady Rae such a sweet Soul made us feel very comfortable like we were eating at home. If they ever have the vegetable beef soup make sure to get you some. Thanks Rae for making our experience great. May God bless you and his light shine down upon you.

I got the biscuits and gravy with sausage and eggs, it was so good!!! The biscuits were perfectly fluffy and it was an excellent ratio of biscuit to gravy. The only odd thing was the eggs had the slight taste of coconut, not sure if they use that oil to cook them or what.
