Mt. Vernon Calico Cupboard Café & Bakery

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️ Calico Cupboard – Mount Vernon We had breakfast here this morning and it was fantastic! I ordered the bacon eggs benedict and it was absolutely delicious. The service was friendly, attentive, and welcoming from start to finish. We dined in and even though there was a short wait, it moved quickly and was well worth it. The ambiance is cozy and charming, and I was impressed by how many options they have. I didn’t try anything from the bakery this time, but I snapped a few photos — everything looked incredible with so many tempting choices. I’ll definitely be back to try some of those! Highly recommend Calico Cupboard for a great breakfast and overall excellent experience.

Wow... I just have to say something. This place may be perfect for the 60+ crowd like if your grandparents need their food soft and unflavored and unseasoned. Unfortunately we really like our food to have flavor and seasoning and this was not the place we should have gone. The service was very strange. From the moment we arrived it was hard to find someone to serve us or figure out the wait time? When we finally got sat we got our drink orders taken and weren't brought waters or the right amount of silverware. The drinks weren't good, the Bloody Mary was really not tasty!! We asked if we could put our food order in and she said no. When our actual server came (our third server) to take food orders she didn't seem knowledgeable on the menu or was able to give us insights on our questions.

I just happened across this place when I was cruising around Mt Vernon. I am SO GLAD I stopped by. First, the decor is rustic and charming with plenty of seating indoors and outside. The first thing you see are the bakery cases with entirely too many things that are tempting. Pastries, pies and cakes that look too good to pass by. They offer both savory and sweet items and delicious coffee. This is a full service restaurant as well and the menu offers something for everyone. They offer both traditional menu items as well as more unusual fare but everything that was ordered was more than tasty and portions so generous you will need a box to take home. This is a must stop café. It’s such a warm friendly environment with a view of what your food experience is gonna be like at the front counter displaying dozens of wonderful bakery items. They have an extensive coffee bar people seem to come in and grab their bakery items and coffee to go. This is our second visit here and it was absolutely wonderful. We stopped for breakfast on our way to the hospital for surgery on my knee. So I got mine to go, which is one of the pictures I uploaded. Something that stands out here more than other Breakfast restaurants is their side of fruit is not just some melon thrown together, but in an arrangement of citrus, pineapple, and apples.
