Great hole in the wall sushi place (if you didn’t enter the restaurant side). The happy hour deals are amazing and the sushi is decent. My only complaint is that I think the avocado rolls should be nice and cool/crisp not warm. The bartender with blond hair was very nice and sweet! Great to be back in the area.
I just dined in this restaurant because I was very excited to try the sushi. I heard all about the happy hour deals and how nice the ambiance is. However, the quality of the sushi was very low. You can tell it is not fresh. I love sushi so much, so for me, it wasn’t hard to tell. I tried to tell the lady in the front and I was met with a horrible attitude. I’m a foodie and I believe it’s important for a restaurant to hear feedback. I’m hoping they listen because it’s a very nice restaurant. My actual server was very kind and asked about my experience, and when I told her about it, I was interrupted by the front lady again and told to not continue my conversation. Drinks are great, so is the ambience, the food though it needs to be better.
Love eating here. The food is the best sushi in the area and the waitresses and owner are terrific. I love the vibe in the place. Had an early valentine's there today. Been going for years. A long time ago , they were in Metuchen, and I was very happy to find them again in Highland Park.
Lovely owner and servers! Food: Extremely fresh pieces of fish, thick cuts, and pleasantly presented. Service: The owner stopped by our table and was extremely nice and friendly. Atmosphere: Super chill and nice spot, nothing super fancy but everything was great!
My husband picked up the sushi for me and noticed it was happy hour after he paid full price for a beer at the bar waiting for our take out order. In this economy you might want to treat your customers right so they can keep coming back because there’s a pretty high sushi competition in this area. He noticed the atmosphere was nice though. When he got home with the sushi, the sushi was below average. It honestly didn’t feel like it was authentic Japanese sushi. It was sloppy and didn’t look that good. It was our first time and definitely our last. We have plenty of spots with great customer service and better quality sushi. This is our feedback, glad everyone who wrote a five star review had a good experience.
