Mr Fish Fish & Chips

The staff is very friendly and efficient. The shrimp tacos are delicious. The fries have the perfect crunch and taste. I love the jalapeño hush puppies. The regular hush puppies are really good too. The onion rings are fantastic. There can be a wait time when it is dinner time but the wait is worth it. You can order ahead and get your order to go as well.

The best fish and chips I think I have ever had. The fish is Alaskan Cod, flesh, thick, big peices and flakes nicely. The batter and fish was cooked perfectly, nicely crisp on the outside, flaky on the inside and not greasy or oily at all. Fries where great as well. The key to cooking that well is fresh oil, frequently cleaned and changed. WE WILL DEFINITELY BE BACK FOR MORE!

Price has just gotten out of hand. a shrimp lovers plate is $10 MORE than advertised on their website. While the food was good, it's not worth the bait and switch. Won't be going back.

UPDATE: My friend and I were back in Yuma three years after my original review. We wanted to make sure we got to Mr. Fish and Chips. The place had changed a little bit. Not inside, but last time we were here you ordered at the counter and they brought the food to you. Now they had table service, plus a larger menu. We both ordered the shrimp plate, which had jumbo fried shrimp, tempura style shrimp, coconut shrimp, and popcorn shrimp. It came with fries and coleslaw. It was all delicious, but the jumbo fried shrimp was the star! We can’t wait to go back and have it again. I have given 2 stars purely because of the food. Yesterday I had lunch there. I ordered Alaskan cod and chips. Let me just say I am old school English so I have expectations. What did I get?? Well I got what I ordered. It was delicious. HOWEVER it was just greasy batter and processed french fries off the back of a Sysco truck. Just a bunch of carbs and no fish. For a single piece of fish it should have been bare minimum twice that size. I have lived in America for 41 years. I am sick to death of restaurants claiming to serve fish and chips only to find that they are just serving the bare minimum using standard catering, mass produced ingredients.
