Morgan's American Grill

We decided to stop off the highway while traveling today and try Morgan’s American Grill. The menu has so many nice things to offer. First, I have to say the crab cake was delicious and not over breaded, I hate when I get a crab cake and you can’t even see or taste a whole lot of crabmeat 🦀 . The brioche bun was nice and soft which complimented the crab cake well. We also ordered the Angus burger it was cooked good and my husband enjoyed it. The boardwalk fries were good also. The berry salad was very good, it looked good before even trying it and the dressing was good also. Upon entry we were greeted with a smile and very welcoming. We didn’t know the person taking our order was the owner. She was very kind, friendly and wanted to make sure we had all we need with our take out ord

We popped in late with a large party and the staff was very accommodating. Great food & service. They had a special menu in addition to their regular and good sized dessert menus. I hate that I forget her name but thank you "Server 303"!

Food was good but a side salad was like 10 pieces of lettuce, but the fact that they charged me the fries in fish and chips as a side is stupid and more than annoying. And they should tell customers that when they buy because I got a side salad thinking it would just be $2.95 and it was not. $4 wasted because this restaurant doesn’t know what fish and chips means. Luckily I don’t live here and don’t ever plan to come back here when I do visit. Place used to be much nicer 20 years ago. Like most restaurants, not worth it.

Potentially the worst crab cake I have ever had. Components were good, majority crab with minimal binder. The taste however was terribly off, the best comparison I can think of is dishwater. I think I managed two bites at most before I called it. The sides were also a bit of a miss. The potatoes were gluey with an odd flavor, the vegetable medley was akin to something out of a microwaveable bag. On the plus side the appetizers were very good. Specifically the crab dip and pot stickers. I’m thinking it was just an off night but I will not try again to find out.

My first experience at Morgan’s wasn’t the best. I went with a group of six on a Friday night. I’ve read other reviews about being understaffed and I agree. There were multiple times when we were left with empty drinks throughout our meal. Our server was very friendly and helpful, just overworked. My shrimp salad wrap was very bland. The side of vegetables was good though. My husband got filet and crab cake. For the price of $60 we expected more. The steak was tender, but tasteless. The mashed potatoes tasted fake. The crab cake was good, it had lots of meat and little filler. The desserts we tried were good and priced well.
