Moondance Ridge Inn

Pros: We arrived right after a snowstorm which made everything picture perfect. The house is only 5 minutes away from the main town which makes it very convenient if you are there to visit the school or anything else in New Paltz. It's also right off of I-87 so once you reach your exit you're basically there. The room and the main area downstairs were beautifully decorated and felt very cozy. Our room was very comfy and the electric fireplace was much needed because temperatures went down into the single digits at night. The breakfast area was nice with a good variety and is available 24/7 with plates, utensils, and a microwave. There were a few issues that popped up during our stay but all we had to do was text the owner and it was quickly fixed.||Cons: There were strawberries and blueber

We had booked a room online for a Friday night and never saw a single staff member on the site. The outside was not well maintained, and we question why the owner would post a sign warning that the entry deck is slippery when wet or icy rather than just make it safer. Furnishings were shabby, there wasn’t a light bulb in one of the two bedside lamps, and the overhead light didn’t work. Window shades didn’t reach the bottom of the windows, so having the room next to the parking lot provided no privacy. We skipped breakfast as it appeared to consist of prepackaged items and there were dirty dishes in a tub left out overnight in the dining room. This place was a big disappointment.

Very nice B&B. I enjoyed my stay. The host Pablo was very nice, inviting and friendly. The room was nice and big and very comfortable. I like the snacks that are available at all times. There are two cats outside that are very cute and love to be petted. If you’re an animal person you will enjoy them. This is my second time staying here while I have come to New Paltz. This is my first choice. Thank you for an enjoyable stay.

We went to Moondance for a long weekend to get away together, and loved it so much we booked an extra night (thanks for accomodating that, Pablo!). We particularly loved the whirlpool tub in the room, the large room, and the lovely outdoor areas. We like to walk and did take the long walk into downtown New Paltz one evening for dinner (took about 45 minutes). We will be back for sure!

The room is as nice as in the photo, super clean which is a good point. There's 2 cute outdoor cats, an extra good point from me however, if you expected a bed and breakfast experience this is not it. It's basically just a really nice hotel with a breakfast. Pretty basic spread of food (bagels, pastries, cereals, yoghurt) and it's available pretty much all day since its all there when I arrived at 3 pm and the next day when I had breakfast. Overall still an affordable nice place to stay if you ever in New Paltz
