Monster Treats

On October 12th, I walked into Monster Treats and witnessed something very concerning. The employee behind the counter was scooping ice cream when he suddenly sneezed directly over the product. He then wiped his nose with his hand and immediately went back to scooping ice cream for the customer he was serving—without washing his hands. Needless to say, my wife and I turned around and left. When would this ever be acceptable? It’s basic common sense—and standard food safety practice—to turn away from people and food when sneezing, and to wash your hands before handling food again. Is this type of behavior normal at Monster Treats?

We had the Citrus and the Mexican Vanilla, both were absolutely amazing. I cant say anything negative about this place.

Quaint ice cream shop with delicious ice cream. My daughter had the batters up (cake batter flavored) and I had the Texas mud cake(almost like a chocolate mousse flavored ice cream with pieces of chocolate cookie) Both were to die for. Staff was quick and efficient and knew what was in every ice cream, which was helpful because it is not listed on the label. You can also try the flavors you are interested in before getting a full scoop. The scoops are big! The staff was very sweet, just like the ice cream they sell!

We came here for an afternoon treat after checking out Jacob’s Well and the cute shops in Wimberley. We both got two scoops, I got ice cream sandwich and Oreo in a cup and my husband got trick or treat (KitKat, Heath in chocolate) and monster (Oreo, Heath in vanilla) in a waffle cone. We didn’t get any toppings. The ice cream was rich and creamy, we loved it! The service was great as well, the girl working was very helpful and friendly.

Loved this place! The girls behind the counter were sweet and remembered our faces. The ice cream hit the spot in hot, Texas weather!
