Very disappointing dining experience. First, it seems like this restaurant is partly self-service. We had to get our own plates, spoons, and forks. Looking back, I regret leaving a tip since there was very little actual service. Second, the food came out extremely slowly even though the restaurant wasn’t even full. We ordered plain white rice, and it didn’t arrive until we asked for it about half an hour later. Third, we were told the roast duck was sold out. After we ordered BBQ, they came back and said that was also sold out and suggested replacing it with Hainan chicken. The Hainan chicken didn’t come out until almost the end of the meal, when everyone was already full. Since it’s a cold dish, I really don’t understand why it took almost an hour to bring it out. To make things even

This particular location offers a more spacious and refined environment compared to the Mira Mesa branch. We sampled several selections from the menu. The siomai was presented elegantly in a traditional dim sum steamer, arriving hot and flavorful. The shrimp fried rice was particularly satisfying, featuring a distinct smoky wok flavor in every mouthful. The green beans with garlic also proved to be quite palatable, characterized by a light, silky texture and an umami finish. I also appreciated the hot Hong Kong-style tea, which was served with condensed milk on the side. However, the black pepper sirloin was a notable disappointment. It was prepared with an excessive amount of oil, and the beef itself lacked flavor, possessing an unpleasantly soft, almost processed texture. This suggests

This is a Hong Kong–style cha chaan teng. There were seven of us, and everyone ordered a different dish. In the end, we all agreed the experience was a pleasant surprise. The roast duck was very authentic, with crispy skin and tender meat—exactly the kind of flavor you expect from good Cantonese barbecue. The Hainanese chicken was surprisingly tender and fragrant, clearly prepared with care. The braised beef brisket was cooked perfectly—soft and flavorful without falling apart. The siu mai are handmade in-house, with a firm, satisfying texture, definitely not frozen. The stir-fried rice noodles had amazing wok hei and were highly recommended—super aromatic as soon as they hit the table. The drinks were also solid. Both the Hong Kong–style milk tea and yuanyang were very good, though the

We were excited to try out this very new location and weren't disappointed! Everything we tried was hot and fresh, with the hainanese chicken and Hong Kong milk tea being standouts. Service was quick and polite, and while it just opened, the ambiance is already so polished and homey. We enjoyed our meal and look forward to being back! This parking lot can be a little crowded sometimes due to multiple restaurants being there, so it may be difficult at busy times.

This was my second time visiting. The first time was at the Mira Mesa location, and it didn’t really leave me wanting to come back. This time my friends encouraged me to try the new location. The new space is larger and nicely decorated, which made for a better experience. I was also more mindful with my food choices this time. The curry fish balls were decent, and the morning glory was the highlight of the meal. The cold drinks don’t allow sweetness adjustments, but they turned out surprisingly good. Some items, like the roast duck and chicken wings, were a bit oily, but overall it was a much better experience than my first visit.
